We are a leading UK supplier of identity and access control solutions, established in 1998. We are located in Northampton, well connected to the whole of the UK, and we stock 1000s of products ready for same-day dispatch. Over the years we have demonstrated that our technical knowledge is unrivalled in the industry.

Our Story


ID Card Centre began in 1998, with managing director Ben O’Brien, and a whole lot of determination. Ben didn’t start out with a master plan. He started with grit, passion, and a simple belief: build a trusted business that people could rely on. Back then, it was about winging it, learning fast, and putting in the hard work.

Fast forward 22 years, and what began as a one-person venture has grown into a thriving team of sales, marketing, customer experience specialists, printing experts, and warehouse staff. We’ve built not only a business, but a community – people who want to share the same drive, knowledge, and passion that Ben has carried from day one.

ID Card Centre has weathered storms from global recessions to a pandemic, and through it all, we’ve done everything possible to keep our team together. Because this business isn’t just about products, it’s about people: the people who work here, and the people we serve. We’ve met some incredible characters along the way, built lasting relationships, and earned a reputation as experts in ID and access control, not only locally in and around Northamptonshire but across the globe too.

We’re proud of our roots, but we’re not standing still. Every day, we look for new ways to give our customers better experiences, to expand our knowledge, and to show the UK and beyond what proper access control and ID solutions really look like when offered with knowledge, integrity and price.
