IDP Smart Ribbon Types


IDP ribbons come in different variations to help you create the design you require. For printing requirements with only one colour, such as text or line art, monochrome printer ribbons feature a single colour panel, whilst full colour ribbons (also known as YMCK) allow you to create vibrant graphics like photos.

Specialist ribbons add security features like scratch off panels or holograms, and can be used to print on top of your colour design for additional data safety.

Single Colour
Single Colour

Printer ribbons with a single colour panel are called monochrome, and these can be red, black, green, silver, or even specialist ribbons such as signature panels, ideal for printing block elements.
Full Colour
Full Colour

Full colour ribbons, used for producing colourful graphics and photos, contain a minimum of four panels. These are yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (K), heated to create different shades.
Specialist
Specialist

Anything other than standard colour panel ribbons is considered a specialist ribbon. These allow you to add security features and other elements such as holograms and scratch off panels.
