NHS Lanyards

A breakaway point matters in a clinical setting. Under sudden pressure, such as a door closing on it or a patient grabbing hold, the lanyard needs to separate safely at that point. Our standard NHS lanyards come with a single breakaway, but wards handling higher-risk patients, or roles with more physical contact, often move up to double or triple breakaway points for extra release along the strap.

Width matters for legibility more than comfort. 15mm gives enough room for the NHS logo to print clearly and is the width most Trusts issue as standard. We then use a 20mm lanyard for our rainbow NHS lanyards, so the logo and rainbow are clearly visible.

The clip on a lanyard needs to hold ID cards, access fobs or name badges securely while still being easy to unclip. We offer three standard options and also a badge reel for those that need to use access control points throughout their shift.
