CardPresso reaches end of life on 30 September 2028. After that date, the software will no longer be sold, updated or supported. CardPresso is offering a trade-up to ID-ALL for existing customers, and a trade-in for customers on other software, and ID Card Centre can help you choose the right solution for your business.

ID-ALL is built to handle growth without forcing a change of software further down the line. It's the professional ID card design and production platform from CardPresso, and it covers everything from a small business printing its first batch of staff cards to a hospital or university managing thousands of secure credentials across multiple databases.

The software scales with four editions, so you pay for the tools your organisation actually needs today, and can move up when your requirements change. Templates, database connections and printer setup all carry across between editions, so upgrading never means starting again.

The entry point for basic card design and printing. Includes CR-80 templates, an internal database limited to 50 records, and 1D barcode support, so new customers can get up and running quickly. Ideal for small organisations who are just starting out, as well as users with basic ID card printing needs.

Suits small companies with occasional printing and straightforward database needs. This edition upgrade removes the CR-80 format limit, adds all card formats, batch printing, 2D barcodes, QR codes and magnetic encoding, and connects to MS Excel, CSV and TXT files without restriction.

Built for medium-sized organisations and schools with regular printing and simple photo enrolment. Adds face cropping, background removal, multi-layout designs, conditional printing, MS Access, SQLite and Google Sheets connections, as well as signature acquisition.

For large organisations, universities and hospitals that need high-volume card issuance. Adds MySQL, PostgreSQL and ODBC connections, fingerprint acquisition, contact and contactless chip encoding, and MIFARE Classic and Ultralight support, with Active Directory and MIFARE DESFire plugins.

CardPresso is professional ID card design and production software, compatible with card printers from every major manufacturer. It comes in five editions, giving you the design, database and encoding tools to match your organisation's size and setup.

CardPresso reaches end of life on 30 September 2028, after which it won't be sold, updated or supported. Existing licences keep working, but if you're buying today, it's worth planning your move to ID-ALL, CardPresso's successor software, while the Trade-Up scheme is still available.

The XXS edition is the entry-level edition that provides your business with the basic tools to design and print ID Cards. This version is often bundled with ID Card Printers to get you started.

The XS edition provides you with all the features of the XXS edition with the addition of support for QR codes. The XS edition also includes access to .XLS, .CSV and .TXT databases.

The XM edition provides you with the features of the XXS and XS editions as well as a smartcard plugin, the ability to manage 2D barcodes and support for automatic face detection.

The XL edition offers all the standard features with the addition of allowing fingerprint acquisition, an ODBC connection to external databases and contactless RFID encoding.

The top-of-the-range CardPresso XXL Edition includes advanced features such as DESFire encoding, as well as a web print server and a net licence for up to sixteen PCs.

Moving away from CardPresso doesn't mean starting again. Whichever route applies to you, switching to ID-ALL costs less than buying a new licence outright, and your card templates, database connections and printer setup carry across in the same way they would with a standard edition upgrade.

There are two routes in, depending on what you're using now.

Trade-Up is for existing CardPresso customers. Trade in your current licence, of any edition, and move onto the equivalent ID-ALL licence at a reduced price.

We'll place the order on your behalf. To do this, we need a few details from you:

• The software you're currently using, including its edition and licence number
• The ID-ALL edition you're moving to
• Your licence number, so we can confirm which one is being upgraded

We'll take care of the paperwork and send this information to CardPresso, who will process the upgrade as quickly as possible.

To complete the switch, your old software package needs to go back to CardPresso, including any USB key or licence code. We'll confirm the return address and process for you, so you're not left guessing.

Once everything's confirmed, you'll receive your ID-ALL licence as a digital key. Even if you currently activate CardPresso using a USB key, there's nothing physical to manage, replace or lose track of with ID-ALL. Activation happens online.

From 30 September 2028, CardPresso will no longer be sold as a new licence, and there will be no further software updates or technical support. Existing licences will keep working, but we'd recommend planning your move to ID-ALL before that date, especially while the trade-up and trade-in schemes are available.

Trade-up is for existing CardPresso customers moving to the equivalent ID-ALL licence. Trade-in is for customers on any other card design software who want a discount off a new ID-ALL licence. Both end when CardPresso reaches end of life.

No. Your card templates, database connections and printer setup carry across to ID-ALL in the same way they would with a standard CardPresso edition upgrade.

Your ID-ALL licence arrives as a digital key rather than a physical USB key, so there's nothing to plug in, replace or lose. Activation happens online. If you take advantage of the trade up offer, you will need to return your USB key to CardPresso, we'll share all of the information about how to do while we help you choose your new ID-ALL software.

It depends on which database and encoding features you use day to day, since CardPresso's five editions don't map one-to-one onto ID-ALL's four. Our team can confirm the right match once we know your current edition.
