The ZXP Series 7 card printer uses direct-to-card dye-sublimation, applying colour to the card through a printhead and ribbon, alongside thermal transfer, which uses heat to fix the design onto the card surface. Single-sided printing runs at up to 300 full-colour cards an hour. The dual-sided version prints on both sides of the card in the same pass, at up to 225 full-colour cards an hour or 1,375 in monochrome.
Smart card encoding is available as an upgrade, covering magnetic stripe and contactless (MIFARE) or contact encoding, so the same printer can produce an access control credential alongside a standard photo ID. A Kensington lock slot lets you physically secure the printer to a desk if it's sitting somewhere accessible. USB and Ethernet connectivity come as standard, with a WiFi upgrade available if you'd rather connect wirelessly.
The input feeder holds up to 200 cards and adjusts automatically to card thickness, so there's no manual recalibration between batches. The output hopper holds up to 100 cards.
