Zebra YMCKO Colour Printer Ribbon (800077-742EM)
The Zebra 800077-742EM is the high-yield YMCKO colour ribbon for the ZXP Series 7, giving you 750 full colour prints per roll. Like every ribbon for this printer, it belongs to Zebra’s ix Series range and carries an RFID chip that the ZXP Series 7 reads as soon as the ribbon drawer closes. The printer uses that chip to recognise the ribbon, set up the driver and warn you when the roll is running low, so it will only print with a genuine ix Series ribbon loaded.
- Part number: 800077-742EM
- Ribbon type: YMCKO full colour (yellow, magenta, cyan, black resin and clear overlay)
- Yield: 750 prints per roll
- Compatible printer: Zebra ZXP Series 7 ID card printer
- In the box: 1 x YMCKO ribbon, 1 x cleaning roller
Each card uses all five panels in turn. The yellow, magenta and cyan dye panels blend to build photos and logos in full colour, and the black resin panel then prints text and barcodes with clean, sharp edges that a scanner can read easily. The clear overlay goes on last and seals the printed surface, so the card stands up to daily handling and the photo holds its colour for longer.
Which ZXP Series 7 Ribbon Suits Your Cards
The ZXP Series 7 was built for medium and high-volume card printing, and the 750-print roll matches that pace perfectly. You change ribbons less often and the price per card comes down compared with Zebra’s 250-print YMCKO roll, which makes more sense for occasional, smaller batches.
If your cards carry information on the back, such as terms of use, an emergency contact number or a barcode, a YMCKOK colour ribbon adds a second black resin panel so a dual-sided ZXP Series 7 prints the reverse in the same pass.
Zebra also makes a half panel YMCKO ribbon for the ZXP Series 7. It suits card designs where the colour sits on one part of the card, usually a photo and logo, with black text across the rest.
For text-only work like reprinting names onto pre-printed cards, a black monochrome ribbon brings the cost per card right down. A white monochrome ribbon does the same job on dark coloured cards, where black print would disappear.
The ribbon slots into the ZXP Series 7’s ribbon drawer on colour-coded spools that match the printer, so it loads the right way round every time. Fit the supplied cleaning roller whenever you load a fresh ribbon. It lifts dust off each card before it reaches the printhead, which keeps print quality consistent across all 750 prints and helps your printhead last longer.
