Agilia and Primacy 2: Built on the Same Foundation

The Agilia shares its design, print quality and much of its underlying technology with the Evolis Primacy 2, one of the best-known printers in the card printer market. Rather than starting from scratch, Evolis built the Agilia using the same software suite, encoders, and lamination module technology proven on the Primacy 2, so you're getting a retransfer printer backed by an established, benchmark foundation rather than an unproven new design.

Security and Encoding Options

Beyond digital erasing, which clears sensitive data from the printer's memory after each job to reduce the risk of fraudulent reuse, the Agilia supports card-level security too. Magnetic stripe encoding (ISO 7811) is available, alongside an Evolis Elyctis Dual smart card encoder covering both contact chip cards (PC/SC, EMV) and contactless technologies (MIFARE, DESFire, and iCLASS at 13.56MHz), so one printer handles both card types rather than needing separate hardware. For print-level security, the Agilia also supports UV printing, microtext, guilloches, and high-definition QR codes, features that make a card significantly harder to convincingly counterfeit.

If your cards need an extra layer of physical protection, an Evolis Lamination Module is available to pair with the Agilia, which adds a protective laminate layer on top of the printed design for cards that need to last longer in daily use.
