Evolis Badgy 200 Product Overview

How It Prints

The Badgy 200 uses direct-to-card dye-sublimation and resin thermal transfer printing, applying colour directly onto the card surface rather than a separate lamination step. With a full-colour YMCKO ribbon loaded, it prints intricate graphics, company logos, text, and barcodes in sharp detail, all in one pass. It's single-sided and prints edge-to-edge, so a design fills the whole card rather than sitting inside a visible border.

Speed and Capacity

The Badgy 200 prints up to 95 full-colour cards an hour, or up to 325 in monochrome, on standard CR80 cards up to 700 microns thick. The 25-card input hopper suits printing single cards or in small batches on demand rather than running huge overnight batches: load a small stack, print what you need, and top it up again when the next batch comes in.

Built for a Desk, Not a Print Room

At a footprint smaller than a sheet of A4 paper, the Badgy 200 is compact enough to sit on a reception desk or a shared office desktop without taking over the space. It still has room for a Kensington lock slot, so the printer itself can be physically secured, which is useful anywhere it's sitting somewhere accessible rather than in a locked back office.

Software and Connectivity

Evolis Badge Studio comes included, giving you a working card design tool from the moment it's unboxed rather than needing to source one separately. It connects over USB and runs on both Windows and Mac, so it fits into most existing office setups without extra configuration.

Why the Badgy 200 Is a Good Choice

If you're printing ID cards, membership cards, or visitor passes in small, regular batches rather than high volume, the Badgy 200 covers the job well without the cost of a larger, higher-capacity printer. It suits a small business, a reception desk, or an office that needs professional-looking cards on demand, printed as people need them rather than pre-ordered in bulk.

Instant Card Production

This bundle includes consumables and software as standard (consumables package of 100 blank white PVC cards and a printer ribbon).

Blank White Cards

The Badgy 200 ID card printer comes with 100 free cards, so you can start producing your designs straight away. You can print single sided standard cards with the click of a button, meaning you can produce badges as you need to and issue them straight away. Simply load the cards into the printer once you have completed the initial set up, and begin printing.

If you begin to run low on consumables, we stock a range of cards that are compatible with this printer.

YMCKO Ribbon

Alongside the cards, the Badgy 200 also comes with a ribbon that is suitable for printing up to 100 cards. This ribbon is made up of five panels: Yellow (Y), Magenta (M), Cyan (C), Black (K), and Overlay (O). The colour panels are heated to various temperatures to produce different shades, which are layered to create colourful graphics such as logos, photo ID, icons and more.

To ensure you can continue printing seamlessly once your ribbon is fully used, we stock several ribbons compatible with the Badgy 200.

Evolis Badge Studio Software

To ensure the Badgy 200 is the easiest out-of-the-box printing solution on the market, it includes Evolis' very own software. Evolis Badge Studio allows you to easily create custom card templates, so you can add all of the details you need. It is user-friendly and intuitive without compromising on features. Import your data from your existing database and add it to your branded design for full customisation.

This programme is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS operating systems.

Compatible Accessories

If you are looking to travel with your printer to different locations, the Badgy 200 is compatible with a travel bag (purchased separately). This means you can transport it to trade shows, events, between office locations, or even simply store it when not in use. The specifically designed bag ensures your Badgy 200 will remain safe.

Common FAQs about the Evolis Badgy 200 Bundle

What type of cards can the Evolis Badgy 200 print on?

The Badgy 200 ID card printer is designed specifically for CR80 size (Credit-Card Sized) and can print on both PVC and composite cards. This allows you to print photo / staff ID cards, membership cards, loyalty cards and much more.

Take a look at all of our blank white cards that we have to offer.

What's so good about the bundle and how can it help me?

It saves you from sourcing a compatible ribbon and cards separately and guessing whether they'll actually work together. This bundle comes with the YMCKO colour ribbon and 100 blank white PVC cards already matched to the printer, plus Evolis Badge Studio software included rather than bought as a separate licence. Load it up and start designing your first card the same day it arrives. It includes:

  • Evolis Badgy 200 Plastic Card Printer
  • YMCKO Colour Printer Ribbon (CBGR0100C)
  • 100 Blank White Plastic Cards (PVC)
  • Evolis Badge Studio Software

How fast can the Badgy 200 print cards?

The Badgy 200 ID card printer can produce an outstanding 95 YMCKO coloured cards/hour and up to 325 monochrome cards/hour, making it the perfect solution for small-medium sized businesses looking to scale as a reasonable rate.

Does the printer require regular maintenance once up and running?

Yes. All ID card printers require maintenance to keep them producing the best results possible and prevent damage to the printhead.

We recommend running a cleaning card through after every ribbon change, since dust and debris on the printhead affect print quality over time. ID Card Centre stocks printer cleaning kits for all of the printers we stock, including the Badgy 200, so keeping on top of this is a five-minute job rather than a specialist one.

What environments is the Badgy 200 ideal for?

Its 25-card hopper and single-sided printing suit places that issue IDs occasionally: a school office topping up a handful of new starters, a GP surgery badging a new locum, or a small business handing a new starter their pass on day one. It's a great printer to sit on a reception desk without taking up much room, and at 95 colour cards an hour, it's still powerful enough to keep up with your card production.
