Key Features of the Evolis Primacy 2 ID Card Printer

High-Speed & High-Volume Output

For organisations that produce large volumes of cards, such as corporate offices, healthcare, education, and events, the Primacy 2 is engineered for efficiency.
It can comfortably support large volume printing requirements, printing thousands of cards monthly. With speed modes available depending on your workflow, it ensures maximum efficiency for batch production.

ID Cards and Badges with Advanced Finish Quality

The Primacy 2 printer prints at a customisable 300 x 600 dpi resolution for colour, and it can go up to 300 x 1200 dpi for monochrome jobs. That means you can dial in the level of detail a card actually needs instead of running everything at one fixed setting. Combined with a colorimetric profile tuned for a true-to-life colour profile, plus edge-to-edge printing with no border, you get a sharp, saturated, high-quality finish that holds up under close inspection. Photos, logos and fine text all come out clean, not soft or blotchy.

That quality carries across both printing methods built into the machine. There's dye-sublimation for full-colour cards, which is great for photo IDs, branded visitor badges, or anything customer-facing. And there's resin thermal transfer for crisp monochrome printing, perfect for staff cards, access badges, or high-volume runs where speed matters more than colour. Because both technologies live in the same printer, you're not sacrificing one for the other. You get photo-quality colour output when you need it, and durable, high-contrast mono printing when you don't, all from a single machine.

Flexible Options for All Printing Needs

The printer is compatible with a wide range of setups:

  • Single sided or double sided card printing options
  • Optional lamination module for increased card durability
