The Magicard Prima Laminator applies an additional thin layer over the top of your cards, increasing durability without affecting smart card encoding. It's designed to securely prevent wear and tear on your ID cards and badges in one print cycle. So, you can produce the same cards in the same colour but with added protection from UV and general wear and tear. 

The inline laminator card printer easily integrates with the Magicard Prima 4 / 8 and delivers outstanding lamination results, whether your application calls for holographic film or overlaminate patches. Like the Prima 4 printer, this lamination module offers front-loading lamination rolls for ease of use and convenience.

Please note: The temperature and speed settings will need to be adjusted in order for the laminator to work correctly, but both settings can be easily adjusted via the LCD display panel to optimise results. You will also need to use specific ribbons with this printer (more information about the right ribbons to use can be found below and we keep them in stock ready to ship).

Magicard Prima 8 Retransfer ID Card Printer Laminator Models

There are two models of this laminator to choose from: the Uno and Duo. Both work on the Prima 4 and Prima 8 and choosing between them is simple. 

The Uno

The Uno is for single-sided Prima 8 retransfer printers. It can provide lamination right up to the edge of the card on one side. You can still use all of the encoding options you are used to, but also protect the information on the front of your ID cards.

The Duo

The Duo is designed for dual-sided Prima 8 printers and allows you to laminate both sides of the cards. If you already have a dual-sided Prima 8 and print on both sides of the card, it keeps all of the information on the surface of the card protected for years. Once again, you can use any access control cards you like, and it also works with cards with magnetic stripes.
