Magicard Prima 8 Retransfer ID Card Printer
The Magicard Prima 8 Re-transfer ID card printer is a high-end printer designed for producing high-quality, durable ID cards and inherits the most successful features and outstanding print quality from previous generations. It offers 300 dpi output as standard, but does come with a 600 dpi output variation for sharper images and text, printing capabilities to the edge of the card, and robust security features such as HoloKote® watermarks and UV printing, which use the specialist YMCK-UV ribbon. With the UV feature, you can print images that are invisible to the naked eye but can be revealed under a UV light source, enhancing card security and preventing cloning. Suitable for corporate, educational, governmental, membership, and financial environments, this printer supports various encoding options such as magnetic stripe and smart cards (contact / contactless). The Prima 8 uses reverse-transfer printing technology, where images are printed in a "reverse image" format onto a thin retransfer film and then heat-transferred onto the card.
