Magicard Prima 8 Retransfer ID Card Printer

The Magicard Prima 8 Re-transfer ID card printer is a high-end printer designed for producing high-quality, durable ID cards and inherits the most successful features and outstanding print quality from previous generations. It offers ultra high-resolution of 600 dpi for sharp images and text, printing capabilities to the edge of the card, and robust security features such as HoloKote® watermarks and UV printing, which use the specialist YMCK-UV ribbon. With the UV feature, you can print images that are invisible to the naked eye but can be revealed under a UV light source, enhancing card security and preventing cloning. Suitable for corporate, educational, governmental, membership, and financial environments, this printer supports various encoding options such as magnetic stripe and smart cards (contact / contactless). Known for its fast printing speed, reliable print results and high-capacity input/output handling, the Prima 8 connects via USB and Ethernet and is compatible with multiple card design software solutions, making it ideal for environments needing secure, long-lasting identification cards.


The Prima 8 uses reverse-transfer printing technology, where images are printed in a "reverse image" format onto a thin retransfer film and then heat-transferred onto the card. This process produces a card quality comparable to offset litho printing, with the added benefit of allowing each card to be uniquely customised.


The Magicard Prima 8 is capable of both single sided and double sided card printing depending on the specific model or configuration you choose.
