Issuing a new fob is a quick job at the PC running Net2. Open or create the user’s record in the PC software, then present the fob to a Net2 desktop reader so the token number is entered for you. Set that person’s access permissions and the fob is ready to use straight away.
If you don’t have an enrolment reader yet, the Paxton Net2 Desktop Enrolment Reader (514-326) sits beside the PC and reads each fob’s number straight into Net2. When someone leaves or loses a fob, you can remove that token in the software and issue a replacement from the same pack.
Paxton tokens use Hitag2 technology with Paxton’s own proprietary encoding. Every time a fob is presented, the token and the reader run a password exchange to authenticate each other. Only then does the reader look up the user’s access permissions and grant or deny entry. That handshake gives your Net2 system an extra layer of protection against cloned tokens.
These fobs work with Net2 proximity readers such as the Paxton P50 proximity reader (353-110), and they run alongside Paxton Net2 cards on the same system. A common setup is fobs for regular staff and printed Net2 proximity cards for anyone who needs visible photo ID, all managed from the one Net2 software.
