Paxton Net2 Proximity MIFARE® Reader P50
The Paxton P50 is a compact proximity reader for Net2 access control systems. It reads MIFARE® cards as well as Paxton’s own Net2 tokens, which means a staff photo ID card can open doors too. A MIFARE Classic card printed with someone’s photo and name works as their door credential, so nobody needs to carry a separate fob.
- Manufacturer Part number: 353-467
- System: Paxton Net2
- Reads: MIFARE Classic (ISO 14443A), EM4100 and Paxton Net2 tokens
- Frequency: 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz
- Rating: IPX7, suitable for external use
- Dimensions: 100 x 50 x 16mm
- Power: 10-14V DC
- Fascia: Black
The P50 sits less than 16mm off the wall, so it suits office doors, staff entrances and internal doors where a bulkier reader would look out of place. The cable exits centrally from the back of the reader, which keeps drilling accurate and the finish neat.
Mount it away from metal surfaces and other proximity readers, because both shorten its read range.
The reader comes with a black fascia. Paxton registered installers can order replacement fascias in black and white/grey through the Paxton Portal.
Paxton has added genuine HID technology to the P50, so it can also read HID 125 kHz proximity tokens once licensed with an activation card. A separate activation card turns on Wiegand output if the reader needs to connect to a different access control system.
On sites already issuing Net2 fobs, the P50 reads those too. Existing users keep their tokens while new starters move onto printed MIFARE ID cards.
