Paxton Proximity Frequencies: 125kHz vs 13.56MHz


Paxton readers come in two frequencies, both offering enhanced security measures within businesses. 

  • 125kHz Readers: Prevents door entry without permissions whilst being cost-effective and easily scalable. 
  • 13.56MHz Readers: Offers advanced encryption and a much larger data capacity. These types of readers are designed for environments that require high-security and access control.

Both frequencies allow ID cards, key fobs, and RFID stickers to work seamlessly during every contactless entry.

What Credentials Should I Use?


The right credential for your access control systems depends on your specific needs and the environment you're in. We offer a wide range of options, including access cards, key fobs, and RFID stickers, all serving different purposes.

Cards allow you to produce unique designs onto the surface whilst compromising on a bigger credential however fobs and stickers are more compact and can be easily carried or attached to accessories.

We recommend the Paxton 695-644 keyfobs and Paxton 692-500 cards as they are our most popular products for Net2 systems. We offer a wide range of compatible products so make sure to take a look before purchasing.

Can Paxton readers be used for any sized business?

Of course, you can purchase as many readers as you want depending on your business size and how many areas you want to protect.

Are Paxton readers secure enough to hold the data?

Yes, all the readers offer encryption to protect your data, making it unreadable without a key. The 13.56MHz readers offer a more advanced encryption.
